Jennifer Gann-Dudgeon
My family and I moved to Wisconsin
from Colorado in 2008, and I have been a doula since 2005. My husband
and I love raising our two little boys; one was born in a hospital and
one was born here in WI at our home.
As a DONA certified doula, I have supported mothers and partners through
natural, medicated, and cesarean section births as well as attempted
VBACs. I believe that through education, parents will be empowered with
enough information to make healthy choices for themselves and their
baby's birth. Giving birth is a time like no other; our bodies take over
and guide us through the remarkable experience of childbirth. I believe
that all women with the right surroundings are able to birth their baby
with little intervention. The miracle of birth is a one-time event
between mother and child, and therefore should be a positively memorable
experience.
Women who feel empowered through their birthing experience have an
easier time transitioning into the wonderful world of motherhood. My
goal is to lend educational, physical and emotional support to whatever
decisions a woman and her partner envision for their birth.
My services include the following:
* Prenatally meetings (usually 3-4)
* Unlimited phone and email contact throughout your pregnancy
* At home labor support before you go the hospital
* Continual Labor support for home and hospital births
* Photographs of your labor/delivery (if you are interested)
* Continued support post delivery (usually 1-2 hours)
* One home visit postpartum

Jenny was the doula for the birth of both of my sons. She was both me
and my husband's calming light during each experience. For my first
birth, I expected this sensual, sweet experience...the gift of
life...and then after about 7 hours of light, easy contractions- the
real ones "kicked" in. Jenny was essential in helping me maintain my
sanity, while the reality of laboring bulldozed over me.
