Kymm Wanat- Birth Doula

My interest in childbirth began about 15 years ago during my career as a certified medical assistant. I worked for a physician that cared for mainly young women and their families. I was lucky enough to be asked to attend more than 20 births as a labor assistant for our patients.Since then, I became a mom of three girls, a single and a set of identical twins.

Currently, I am a DONA trained birth doula and passionate about women's health and the entire process of childbirth. I believe that helping a woman understand her own body and what it can accomplish if given the chance is a very rewarding aspect of birth work. One common piece of advice I give to expectant moms I encounter is to "let your body do what it knows how to do".

There are many options for pregnant women these days and being aware of them is a great way to have the type of birth experience you want. A doula can help with finding these options and compiling a birth plan to help achieve a wonderful birth experience. As part of my services, I will help parents develop a birth plan as well as find the answers to the many questions and concerns surrounding the miracle of childbirth.

I treat each birth individually and will customize my services to fit the needs and wants of the woman and her husband or partner.
