Michelle has been married to her highschool sweetheart since 1988, and is the mother to seven children (six girls and one boy). She began her career focusing on education, but after she graduated from Alverno College she realized that she wanted to be home with her children, so she decided to open her own licensed home daycare. While running her daycare she went back to school to further her education and obtained a masters degree in education in 2004. While pursuing her masters degree Michelle also became a certified labor and postpartum doula, a certified childbirth educator, and a certified Happiest Baby educator. She has taken the advanced labor doula training course and a massage doula training course.

In 2006After being a doula for a few years, Michelle decided to add to what she offered, and so she went back to school and studied massage therapy, and in 2006 she graduated from Lakeside School of Massage Therapy and became a licensed massage therapist (license # 3819-046). In 2007 Michelle took advanced training and earned her certification in prenatal and postpartum massage as well as infant massage. She currently works as a massage therapist, labor doula, postpartum doula, and childbirth educator (teaching regular childbirth education and hypnosis for childbirth.)

Michelle teaches privately from her South Milwaukee office, but also teaches for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. Michelle offers a sliding fee scale to those in need and is willing to barter for services. She believes that "every woman should be entitled to a peaceful birth in which she can be confident that the care she is given will not inflict on her beliefs and values, but instead will enhance the wonderful process she is embarking on."
